ECHOES OF CIRQUE
Brisbane, QLD
Performing on Wednesday 23rd September
Echoes of Cirque captures the essence of Django Reinhardt and the allure of 1930s Paris, giving a fresh spin to the classic sounds of jazz manouche.
They mix infectious beats, alluring melodies and heartfelt improvisation to make a truly captivating musical journey. Formed at Woodford Folk Festival, they've grown into one of the leading jazz manouche acts in Australia.
On stage, they bring a rare combination of energy and virtuosity — lightning-fast unison lines and searing solos delivered with the kind of chemistry that only comes from players who've cut their teeth together in the deep end of a festival crowd. It's a live show built to hold a room: engaging and full of momentum, with the technical command to reward close listening and the swing to get a crowd moving. Since their debut album 'Fig. 1' was released in 2025, the group has been making waves with their performances across Australia, including sets at Woodford Folk Festival and MONA, with Maleny Folk Festival on the horizon.
