Matt Westwood and Ian Craig are Toowoomba musicians with diverse musical backgrounds. Matt’s musical journey began in the classical world, performing with orchestras, chamber ensembles, and as a soloist, before discovering the love and terror of improvisation while playing in bands in Melbourne. Ian originally trained as a trombonist and has become a fixture of the Toowoomba jazz scene, performing regularly with many of Toowoomba’s leading Jazz bands.
Together, they are founding members of Gypsy Jumbucks, Toowoomba’s premier Gypsy Jazz band formed in 2023, and also lead Toowoomba Gypsy Jazz, a vibrant public jam open to all Gypsy Jazz enthusiasts, hosted every Thursday at 7:00 pm at Urban Grounds Café.
Please note: The musicians will perform acoustically, with the first set commencing after doors open and continuing until the Main Act of the evening begins at 7.30 pm. Their second set will commence during the Main Act’s performance break from 8.30 to 9.00 pm.
